We’ve seen plenty of lists like “The Top 100 Leadership Blogs” or “50 Best Leadership Blogs”. Many of these lists are based on number of subscribers, Alexa ranking, where they show up on Google search results pages, or it’s a combination of all of these factors. In some cases it’s just the list creator’s opinion. These lists are great and that’s where we started our process to find the Top 30 Socially-Shared Leadership Blogs.
We thought that maybe a better metric to determine the best blogs is to look at all of their posts for a given period of time and sum up all of the times each post was shared on the major social sites. This total number of social shares across their blog posts for a 3 month period is what determined the winner.
We think this is a great metric to use. Why? Because if someone’s posts are shared a lot on the major social sites, then that’s social proof that their content is good.
Here’s the link to the complete list and a more in depth explanation of how we did the research.
