Tailored Executive Coaching Helps the Entire Organization Succeed

CMOE has worked with a wide variety of organizations and their leaders over the past four decades, and we have seen it all: high-potential leaders who want to move their career along the fast track, executives who want to reach higher levels of performance, and leaders who needed to make a 180-degree change. In collaboration with each of our clients, we design executive coaching programs that are carefully tailored and customized for the unique needs of each coachee and the organizations they work for.

We begin each coaching engagement by focusing on increasing the coachee’s self-awareness and knowledge about his or her personal development needs. We carefully select assessment tools that will allow us to pinpoint each person’s opportunity for improvement and design a coaching program that will best serve the identified needs. The information gathered through these initial assessments helps us create a strategic development plan that will focus on the competencies that are most important for the coachee to be successful. This information also helps us to identify the coach who will match the executive’s needs best.

Once the coaching process begins, the coach and executive work together to focus on leadership excellence, enabling others to succeed, and measuring and achieving business results. During the initial meeting with your coach, you can expect to build trust, define roles, and discuss your personal strengths and development areas.

Spectacles and BookWorking with a coach will help you to clarify your goals and fine-tune a development plan. The length of the coaching engagement is customized for the needs of each executive. It may include weekly or bi-monthly meetings, assigned reading, learning exercises, reflection and application assignments, or personal instruction. Coaches are always available should urgent questions, issues, or needs for additional support arise during the coaching engagement.

Follow-up discussions are held with your coach on an ongoing basis to make sure you can quickly apply new skills to real business situations. Our goal is to help you generate fast results and implement strategies that make enhanced performance and more-positive outcomes sustainable over time.

To ensure your long-term success, our coaches provide progress reports and/or hold conference calls with your sponsors in senior leadership. Our coaches have helped leaders prepare for many situations, including taking on new roles or launching an important project.

We have also worked with leaders to produce significant change in their personal leadership style. Our coaches have helped executives move from a micro-managerial, authoritarian approach to one that is more flexible and collaborative. This enables the individuals on a team to learn and take more responsibility for their decisions. It also helps the executive achieve greater levels of job satisfaction and work-life balance.

A coach can help identify barriers to success and build upon key leadership competencies. There is a wide range of competency areas to focus on that may improve your leadership effectiveness. Some of these may include time management, emotional intelligence, influencing others, strategic leadership, effective execution, managing conflict, communication, stress management, or effectively navigating internal politics.

With the help of an executive coach, numerous leaders have been able to enhance their own performance and create a culture of delegation, accountability, and empowerment. Leaders who can build high-performing teams with the help of executive coaching benefit the entire organization through higher levels of productivity and performance.
