This behavior can be subtle or blatant and it’s always a detriment to the team. But, what can you do about it? The first step toward fixing this problem is to take ownership of your role on the team. You need to ask yourself a few key questions and honestly determine if you are part of the problem or part of the solution. Some people believe that alignment is the most important characteristic of a good team. However, to maximize performance, every team member must be fully committed to achieving excellent results. While having alignment is important, it is more about agreeing with and going along with the group. Commitment is having the passion to do whatever it takes to make the team successful.
